Our Concept and Approach
GPP has worked on several video projects with Highline Studios for many years. After explosive growth and and a successful exit, GPP called on Highline to document this occasion. Highline flew a small documentary style crew to Oklahoma City, and conducted a well lit interview with Darren Head, CEO. We then used Darren's soundbytes as the narrative cut with dynamic b-roll taken all around the company campus and laboratories. We were in and out of clean rooms all day. A clean room is a controlled environment used in manufacturing or scientific research, where the level of airborne particles, temperature, humidity, and other environmental factors are tightly controlled to minimize contamination. Getting in and out is a bit of a chore!
The procedures to get in and out of a clean room are typically very strict and involve a series of steps to ensure that the environment is not contaminated. These steps may include:
- Donning appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), such as gowns, gloves, face masks, hairnets, and shoe covers. The PPE may vary depending on the level of cleanliness required in the clean room.
- Entering an airlock or anteroom, which serves as a buffer zone between the clean room and the outside environment. The airlock may have a HEPA (high-efficiency particulate air) filter to remove particles from the air.
- Removing any outer clothing, such as lab coats, and wiping down exposed skin with alcohol or other disinfectants.
- Passing through a series of additional airlocks, each with increasingly stringent cleanliness requirements.
- Once inside the clean room, following specific protocols for handling materials, equipment, and samples to prevent contamination.
- When leaving the clean room, reversing the process by passing through the airlocks in the reverse order, removing PPE, and properly disposing of any waste generated inside the clean room.
As you can imagine, it was a bit cumbersome! In the end end we got tons of gorgeous clean room b-roll footage. We also launched our drone and got some beautiful aerial coverage. The story came together rather quickly, and the client was extremly happy with the end product featuirng it on their homepage for prospective clients and visitors to view.
